  Hacia el final de su vida Ferenczi es consciente de los errores que ha cometido en su continuada investigación tanto en teoría como en técnica, y los reivindica por lo que de ellos ha aprendido. Aquí se aborda la autocrítica que hace tras descartar la práctica, tanto de la «técnica activa», como del experimento del «análisis mutuo». La conceptualización de lo que denomina «consejos técnicos positivos» (y colateralmente la crítica que surge a la técnica llamada clásica u ortodoxa), la importancia y profundización del estudio de la contratransferencia y ligado a ello la insistencia a ultranza en la formación y en particular en el análisis didáctico, y el encaramiento tanto en la teoría como en la técnica de los riesgos traumatógenos en la cura analítica, son los aspectos abordados, surgidos de la utilización por el húngaro de una metodología epistemológica de ensayo y error y de «reducción al absurdo».

  Towards the end of its Ferenczi life he is conscious of the errors that have committed in his continued investigation as much in theory as in technique, and vindicates them reason why of them it has learned.
