Resumen de Retransmisiones taurinas en Telecinco y Antena3 (1990-2010)

  Se ofrece un estudio cuantitativo y cualitativo de las retransmisiones taurinas en Antena3 y Telecinco (1990-2010) a partir de visionados; entrevistas a profesionales audiovisuales y del sector taurino; el análisis de fuentes bibliográficas/hemerográficas y de medición de audiencias. Se concluye que, las cadenas que protagonizaron el boom de las retransmisiones taurinas a mediados de los noventa: 1) apostaron por la emisión de espectáculos taurinos en su estrategia programática para obtener audiencia aprovechándose de su popularidad entre los telespectadores; 2) promocionaron a los “toreros mediáticos” (que, si bien se beneficiaron de una gran proyección, sufrieron la crítica de la prensa especializada y del sector más ortodoxo de la afición); 3) agravaron la histórica desunión de los estamentos taurinos con el conflicto de los derechos de imagen; y 4) proyectaron una visión distorsionada de la fiesta de los toros que, a medio plazo, perjudicó a la tauromaquia y sus actores.

  A quantitative and qualitative study of bullfighting broadcasts in Antena3 and Telecinco (1990-2010) is offered based on the viewing of broadcasts; interview with professionals from the audiovisual and bullfighting sector; the analysis of bibliographic / hemerographic sources and audience metrics yearbooks. It is concluded that the networks that starred in the bullfighting boom in the mid-1990s: 1) bet on the broadcasting of bullfighting shows in their programmatic strategy to obtain an audience taking advantage of their popularity among viewers; 2) they promoted the “media bullfighters” (who, although they benefited from a great projection, also suffered criticism from the specialized press and the more orthodox sector of the fans); 3) aggravated the historical disunity of bullfighting estates with the conflict of image rights; and 4) projected a distorted vision of the bullfight that, in the medium term, harmed bullfighting industry and its actors.
