    Opinión e inteligencia son términos casi antitéticos para quien tiene la responsabilidad de facilitar elementos de juicio al Gobierno de la Nación para la toma de decisiones estratégicas. En ese sentido, resulta fundamental conocer la distinción entre información e inteligencia y el papel que desempeña el ciclo de inteligencia y el análisis. El trabajo en Inteligencia exige disponer de fuentes lo más cercanas posible al origen de la información. Asimismo, es importante que los ciudadanos conozcan que, para cumplir sus misiones, un servicio de inteligencia desempeña su labor siempre en el marco de unos objetivos previamente fijados por el poder ejecutivo del Estado.

    Opinion and intelligence are almost antithetical terms for those responsible for providing the Government with sufficient information for the strategic decision‐making process. In this context, it is essential to be aware of the difference between information and intelligence and the role played by the intelligence cycle and the analysis. The intelligence work requires sources as close as possible to the origin of the information. It is also important for the citizens to know that, in order to fulfil its tasks, an Intelligence Service always operates within the framework of a series of goals previously set by the Executive.
