Resumen de Algoritmo para la atención integral al paciente con fibrilación auricular

  La fibrilación auricular (FA) es la arritmia sostenida más frecuente. Su prevalencia ha aumentado y se asocia a un incremento de la morbimortalidad. A veces es asintomática y se diagnostica de forma casual al consultar por otro problema de salud. Es de destacar el riesgo tromboembólico asociado, por lo que precisa de tratamiento antitrombótico apropiado.

  En necesario el conocimiento de la enfermedad por el paciente, ya que la observancia y los posibles cambios en el estilo de vida son necesarios para optimizar el tratamiento Objetivos. Mejorar la atención a los pacientes con FA mediante la cooperación multidisciplinar de los profesionales adecuadamente coordinados para proporcionar la mejor atención sanitaria; asegurar la correcta evaluación de los pacientes y establecer el tratamiento según las recomendaciones de las guías de práctica clínica, teniendo en cuenta las comorbilidades; promover el autocuidado y el estilo de vida mediante la información y educación sanitaria a los pacientes.

  Material y métodos. Búsqueda bibliográfica -realizada en Julio de 2018- de Guías de Práctica Clínica, artículos recientes sobre aspectos asistenciales y de gestión de la FA.

  Resultados. Se ha confeccionado un algoritmo con la finalidad de ayudar a la toma de decisiones en la detección, valoración inicial, tratamiento y seguimiento del paciente con FA.

  Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most frequent sustained arrhythmia, with an increase in prevalence and associated with an increase in morbidity and mortality. Sometimes it is asymptomatic and is diagnosed by chance when consulting for another health problem. Of note is the associated thromboembolic risk, which requires appropriate antithrombotic treatment.

  Is necessary the knowledge of the disease by the patient since the observance and the possible changes in the lifestyle are necessary to optimize the treatment Objectives. Improve the care of patients with AF through the multidisciplinary cooperation of properly coordinated professionals to provide the best healthcare; ensure the correct evaluation of the patients and establish the treatment according to the recommendations of the clinical practice guidelines, taking into account the comorbidities; promote self-care and lifestyle through information and health education to patients.

  Material and method. Bibliographic search –made in July 2018– of Clinical Practice Guidelines, recent articles on aspects of care and management of AF.

  Results. An algorithm has been prepared with the purpose of helping the decision making in the detection, initial assessment, treatment and follow-up of the patient with AF
