  Mientras que hasta el presente el Consejo de Seguridad ha sido incapaz de adoptar medidas eficaces para impedir el agravamiento de la situación y auspiciar una solución que detenga la violencia y las graves vulneraciones de los derechos humanos, otros órganos como la Asamblea General, el Consejo de Derechos Humanos y el Secretario General están manteniendo una posición activa. Por otra parte, el caso está dando pie a un refuerzo de las relaciones entre las Naciones Unidas y la Liga de los Estados Árabes. Por ello, el balance de la actuación de las Naciones Unidas en este conflicto es inevitablemente negativo pero con matices.

  While so far the Security Council has failed to take effective measures to prevent an aggravation of the situation and sponsor a solution to stop the violence and gross violations of human rights, other organs such as the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council and the Secretary-General are keeping an active position. Moreover, the case is leading to a strengthening of relations between the United Nations and the League of Arab States. Therefore, the balance of the United Nations action in this conflict is inevitably negative but nuanced.
