    El artículo estudia diversos aspectos importantes de la historia del texto del tratado De herba Vettonica, atribuido en última instancia a Antonio Musa, médico de Augusto y hermano del rey Juba II. Se discuten, entre otros temas, la posible existencia de un texto original griego, la relación existente entre el tratado y los escritos de Plinio, y la traducción del tratado al antiguo inglés; con respecto a esta traducción, el autor insiste en su importancia para el establecimiento del texto latino del tratado, porque se data antes del paso del primer al segundo milenio y es, por lo tanto, anterior a la mayoría de los manuscritos latinos que han transmitido el tratado.

    This essay studies various important aspects of the history of text of the treatise De herba Vettonica, ultimaty attributed to Antonius Musa, Augustus' physician and the brother of King Juba II. The possible existence of an original Greek text, the relationship between the treatise and the writings of Pliny, and the translation of the treatise into Old English are discussed, among other topics. With respect to this translation, the author insists on its importance for the establishment of the Latin text of the treatise, because it dates certainly before the turn of the millennium, and the majority of Latin manuscripts is from a later period.
