Resumen de Il cristianesimo extra-large delle mega-churches

  • The appearance of mega-churches represents the imagination of new ritual constructed according to two main goals. First, to communicate that the ritual is a performance of a great and powerful charismatic leader and, secondly, to transform what happens in the times and in the liturgical sequences in a great mass show. All of this contributes to changing the spatial coordinates and the result is the disposal of places that are usually used for worship, which are no longer adequate for the purposes just mentioned. The new mass structures of collective prayer continue to be called churches or be considered as such, but, in reality, they are the living demonstration of the change of meaning that the word church itself undergoes. The article, after briefly describing the phenomenon of mega-churches, will analyze the changes in the conception and management of the sacred space that in contemporary Christianity
