    La STS 31/2020, de 15 de enero, da respuesta a las dudas de legalidad que planteó la huelga general convocada en Cataluña pocos días después de haberse celebrado “el referéndum de autodeterminación” del 1 de octubre de 2017. Con esta resolución, el TS contribuye a delimitar los conceptos de huelga política del artículo 11.a) y de huelga abusiva, del artículo 7.2 RDL 17/1977, y a precisar el nivel de implantación que necesita un sindicato para convocar una huelga general.

    The Judgment of the Supreme Court 31/2020, of January 15, answers the legality doubts raised by the general strike called and held in Catalonia a few days after the "self-determination referendum" held in October 1st, 2017. With this resolution, the Supreme Court contributes to delimiting the concepts of political strike of article 11.a) and abusive strike of article 7.2 RDL 17/1977, and to specify the level of trade union acceptance required for a union to call for a general strike.
