Resumen de Sepultura da Idade do Bronze do Sobreiro (Mato Serrão, Lagoa)

  The emergency excavation of this structure was motivated by its discovery and partial violation as a result of the clandestine extraction of sands. The site is made up of a cist-type structure, built with limestone slabs, where two individuals were buried at different time periods. The latter individual was in a contracted and decubitus lateral position, with the face turned to the south. The first burial corresponded to an adult female and the second to a male, who was older than 35 years. Within the burial was discovered a small fragment of a quern, perhaps placed there as part of a socio-religious ritual. The stone cover to the burial had a group of small cup-marks, to which we should also attribute a ritual character. The typology of the burial, the ritual evidence associated with it, and the parallels studied, allow us to date it to the Bronze II period of the Southwestern Iberia.

  A escavação desta estrutura constituiu emergência, motivada pela sua descoberta e parcial violação, na sequência da extracção clandestina de areias. Trata-se de sepultura, do tipo cista, edificada com lajes de calcário, onde se inumaram dois indivíduos, em diferentes momentos, o último dos quais em posição contraída e decubitus lateral, com a face voltada para sul. A primeira inumação correspondia a mulher adulta e a segunda a indivíduo do sexo masculino, com idade superior a 35 anos. No interior da câmara encontrou-se pequeno fragmento de dormente de mó manual, talvez ali depositado no âmbito de prática sócio-religiosa.A tampa mostrava conjunto de covinhas, a que devemos, ainda, conferir carácter ritual. A tipologia da sepultura, os aspectos rituais que ela ofereceu e os paralelos estudados, permitiram atribuir-lhe datação da II Idade do Bronze do Sudoeste Peninsular.
