Resumen de Los clásicos latinos en los inicios de la imprenta en México (1577-1605)

Resumen: El objetivo de esta nota es mostrar cómo ingresaron los clásicos latinos a Nueva España (hoy México). Primeramente varios escritores españoles, llegados aquí, incluyeron en sus escritos citas de aquéllos. Luego, ya establecida la imprenta, se publicaron obras de esos clásicos o partes de ellas, desde 1577 hasta 1605, principalmente en P. Ovidii Nasonis Tam de Tristibus quam de Ponto y en Poeticarum institutionum liber, variis ethnicorum christianorum exemplis illustratus, libros en que ya está presente la moral impuesta por la Iglesia católica, que prohibía la lectura y enseñanza de la literatura pagana, si no iba expurgada y supresos los pasajes obscenos. En conclusión, dichos libros fueron muy importantes para la enseñanza de la juventud mexicana que asistía a los colegios de los jesuitas.

Abstract: The purpose of the note is to show how were introduced the Latin Classics to New Spain (Mexico now). Firstly many Spanish writers residing here, made quotations into their works; later, whem came the Printing press, were published works or fragments of those authors, between 1577 and 1605, especially in P. Ovidii Nasonis Tam de Tristibus quam de Ponto and Poeticarum institutionum liber, variis ethnicorum christianorum exemplis illustratus. Already is present at those books the moral promulgated for the Catholic Church who forobede to read the pagan literature unless the indecent fragments were expurgated and removed, at all, beside, this and as a conclusion, those books were very important in the teaching of the Mexican youth that attended the Jesuitics schools.
