Recorrido historiográfico por las diferentes aproximaciones económicas, sociales y políticas sobre los municipios catalanes durante el siglo XVIII. Se destacan los distintos enfoques metodológicos y las principales monografías publicadas desde 1968 a la actualidad. Los nuevos retos vendrán de la amplitud de los municipios estudiados, superando el enfoque en las ciudades grandes y medianas, así como del uso de fuentes documentales más diversas, frente al empleo habitual de registros de la Real Audiencia.

Historiographic journey through the different economic, social and political approaches to Catalan municipalities during the 18th century. The different methodological approaches and the main monographs published from 1968 to the present are highlighted.The new challenges will come from the breadth of the municipalities studied, surpassing the focus on large and medium-sized cities, as well as the use of more diverse documentary sources, compared to the usual use of Royal Audience records.
