Thanks to the new social networks, and by pure chance, it has been possible to link two apparently unrelated stories: the intentional sinking of a carrack in San Juan de Puerto Rico in 1595 and the Great Armada of 1588, wrongly named Invincible Armada. In a parallel way, and with the same carrack as the conducting thread, the famous Francis Drake and Juan Gutiérrez de Garibay, a great Spanish sailor, cross their paths. We will see how four times the pirate and corsair tried to seize the carrack, without success, and how Garibay each time forced the English to withdraw.
