  La reconstrucción y análisis del pleito Hispalem Canonicatus permite ilustrar, y comprender mejor, las relaciones judiciales entre Roma y el Cabildo Catedral de Sevilla durante la primera mitad del siglo XVIII pero, también, cómo el enconamiento de las aspiraciones de un hombre pudieron provocar un conflicto legal de gran magnitud contra la institución capitular, ejemplificando la difundida cultura litigante durante el Antiguo Régimen y aproximándonos a la personalidad de los protagonistas en la causa.

  The reconstruction and analysis of the Hispalem Canonicatus quarrel allows to illustrate and understand the judicial links between Rome and the Cathedral Chapter of Seville during the first half of the 18th century. It shows as well how the aspirations of a man caused a legal conflict of great magnitude against the capitular institution. This illustrates the widely spread litigant culture during the Ancient Regime and it brings close us to the personality of the characters of this cause.
