Il saggio, attraverso l’analisi dei documenti custoditi nell’Archivio storico del Comune di Villacidro, ricostruisce il flusso migratorio dei villacidresi all’estero nel secondo dopoguerra. Si tratta di un flusso di centinaia di persone che si diresse prevalentemente in Europa e, in minor misura, nelle Americhe, in Africa e in Oceania. Nello specifico, vengono proposte le fonti più significative custodite nella categoria XIII (“Esteri”), all’interno della busta 2/1, relative agli anni 1950-1962, contenente soprattutto richieste di espatri, passaporti, ricerche di parenti, rimpatri, rimesse e corrispondenza varia. Vengono proposte, infine, le statistiche relative agli espatri e ai rimpatri degli anni 1965-1970, attraverso l’analisi dei modelli ISTAT/P/26 e ISTAT/P/27 dell’Istituto Centrale di Statistica per la rilevazione annuale del movimento migratorio con l’estero verso i Paesi europei e verso i Paesi extraeuropei, conservati nella categoria XIII, all’interno della busta 1/1, relativa agli anni 1961-1970.

The essay, through the analysis of the documents kept in the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Villacidro, reconstructs the migratory flow of villacidresi abroad after the Second World War. It is a flow of hundreds of people who headed mainly to Europe and, to a lesser extent, to the Americas, Africa and Oceania. Specifically, the most significant sources kept in category XIII (“Foreign”) are proposed, inside envelope 2/1, relating to the years 1950- 1962, containing above all requests for expatriation, passports, searches for relatives, repatriations, remittances and varied correspondence. Finally, the statistics relating to the expatriations and repatriations of the years 1965-1970 are proposed, through the analysis of the ISTAT/P /26 and ISTAT/ P/27 models of the Central Institute of Statistics for the annual survey of the migratory movement with abroad to European and non-European countries, preserved in category XIII, inside the 1/1 envelope, relating to the years 1961-1970.
