    • The 70th anniversary of the International Court of Justice is a proper moment to reflect on three seminal publications published in recent years on this subject, but very different in their approach and analysis. Two publications, by Shaw and Thirlway, are reviewed in detail here; the monograph of Robert Kolb was reviewed in this Yearbook by Hugh Thirlway, and is accordingly mentioned more briefly.
