The article offers an analysis of the work of U.S. photographer, painter and conceptual artist Sherrie Levine. It explores the difference between the concept of the "copy" and the concept of "appropriation" based on the work of Levine. The distinction between use and mention is discussed, as well as the effort by Levine to pursue demystification in her work.
