  • Writing about the first selected edition of Coleridge's Notebooks by Mrs Coburn, Nortbrop-Frye obseves that this type of edition imposes on the prose a form not present in Coleridge's writings. Reading these « bits and pieces » precisely as such, it becomes possible to understand the real force, ingenuity and originality of Coleridge's manner of writing.
