Resumen de El papel de España en la cooperación para el desarrollo en materia de turismo en América Latina y el Caribe

  La cooperación para el desarrollo es una de las bases de la política exterior española.

  Teniendo en cuenta el asumido potencial del turismo como impulsor del desarrollo económico y la importancia de España como potencia turística, resulta muy interesante conocer el papel de la cooperación española en América Latina y el Caribe en materia de turismo, así como analizar la importancia que tiene el turismo en los diferentes Planes Directores de la Cooperación Española. Para ello, a través de la plataforma “info@OD”, se han obtenido los datos suficientes que han permitido un análisis pormenorizado de los actores emisores, entidades canalizadoras, países receptores, modos de canalización, instrumentos de cooperación empleados y tipo de financiación de la Ayuda Oficial para el Desarrollo al turismo de España en América Latina y el Caribe. Los resultados obtenidos permiten afirmar que el turismo tiene un carácter secundario en la cooperación española en esta región y que la forma en que se canaliza no aprovecha todas las oportunidades que le brinda el abanico de recursos e instrumentos con los que cuenta la cooperación para el desarrollo.

  The Role of Spain in the Development Cooperation of Tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean. Development cooperation for development is one of the basis of Spanish foreign policy.

  Taking into account the assumed potential of tourism as a driver of economic development and the importance of Spain as a tourism power, it is very interesting to know the role of Spanish cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean about tourism, as well as to analyze the importance that tourism has along the different Master Plans for Spanish Cooperation. For this, through the platform "info@OD", sufficient data have been obtained that have allowed a detailed analysis of the emitting actors, channeling entities, receiving countries, way of channeling, cooperation instruments used and type of financing of the Official Development Assistance to tourism of Spain in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  The results obtained allow us to affirm that tourism has a secondary character in Spanish cooperation in this region and that the way in which it is channeled does not take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the range of resources and instruments of the development cooperation.
