This paper addresses the issues of implementing a variety of computer science courses on the World Wide Web and, in particular, how end‐user interaction has been facilitated in the courseware. A suite of multimedia tools has been produced in order to facilitate the development of our systems; these are described in the paper. The techniques that are used within our courses range from the provision of online lecture notes and exercises (and their solutions) to more interactive packages suited primarily for teaching and demonstration purposes. Examples from some of our courses, that illustrate a broad range of interactive activities, are given in this paper.
