  En este trabajo me pregunto si a la política debe importarle la verdad moral. Mi respuesta es afirmativa. Defiendo que la verdad moral solo puede entenderse adecuadamente en el marco del realismo moral. Reconstruyo la naturaleza del realismo moral e intento contestar a las objeciones clásicas que recibe. En la segunda parte del trabajo planteo tres cuestiones a resolver: la escisión personal a la que conduce el liberalismo político, el alcance de la discontinuidad entre ética y política propuesta por Rawls y la idea según la cual el realismo moral conduce a la intolerancia. Una tesis del trabajo es que el liberalismo ético necesita un compromiso fuerte con la verdad moral que debe entenderse en términos del realismo moral.

  In diesem Artikel gehe ich der Frage nach, ob die Politik sich um die moralische Wahrheit kümmern sollte. Meine Antwort ist ja. Ich behaupte, dass moralische Wahrheit nur im Rahmen des moralischen Realismus richtig verstanden werden kann. Ich rekonstruiere die Natur des moralischen Realismus und versuche, die klassischen Einwände gegen ihn zu beantworten. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit gehe ich auf drei offene Fragen ein: die persönliche Spaltung, zu der der politische Liberalismus führt, das Ausmaß der von Rawls vorgeschlagenen Diskontinuität zwischen Ethik und Politik und die Vorstellung, dass moralischer Realismus zu Intoleranz führt. Eine These des Artikels ist, dass der ethische Liberalismus ein starkes Bekenntnis zur moralischen Wahrheit benötigt, die im Sinne des moralischen Realismus verstanden werden muss.

  In this paper I wonder if politics should care about moral truth. My answer is affirmative. I defend that moral truth can only be properly understood within the framework of moral realism. I reconstruct the nature of moral realism and try to answer the classical objections this doctrine receives. In the second part of the paper, I pose three questions to be resolved: the personal split implied within political liberalism, the scope of the discontinuity between ethics and politics proposed by Rawls, and the idea that moral realism leads to intolerance. A central thesis of my work is that ethical liberalism needs a strong commitment to moral truth that must be understood in terms of moral realism.
