Resumen de Brasil, que país é esse?: O contexto em que se inseriu o congado

  The purpose of this article is to address the social and historical context that the congada was inserted from the arrival of the first African slaves. The discussion follows on the understanding of the dynamics of ethnic-racial relations that were established in that territory, whose formation involved tense and power relations of one social group to the detriment of the others, especially of the oppression forged by the white elite of European descent against the African population and of their black descendants. Thus, we present a discussion aimed at deconstructing the social imaginary that reinforces not only the idea that slavery in Brazil was mild, but also tries to hide the past that underlies and structures the social inequalities that are still present in the country today. Bringing this discussion to the current scene is to understand how tense relations between whites and non-whites in the country are permeated by historical violence and discrimination, generated as a consequence of the racism that still structures and permeates all dimensions and institutions present in Brazilian society

  O objetivo deste artigo é abordar o contexto social e histórico que a congada se inseriu a partir da chegada dos primeiros escravizados africanos. A discussão segue na compreensão das dinâmicas das relações étnicorraciais que foram estabelecidas nesse território, cuja formação envolveu relações tensas e de poder de um grupo social em detrimento dos demais, em especial da opressão forjada pela elite branca de descendência europeia contra a população africana e de seus descendentes negros. Assim, apresentamos uma discussão que visa a desconstrução do imaginário social que reforça não somente a ideia de que a escravidão no Brasil foi branda, mas que também tenta esconder o passado que assenta e estrutura as desigualdades sociais presentes ainda hoje no país. Trazer essa discussão para a cena atual é compreender o quanto as relações entre brancos e não brancos no país são tensas e permeadas pela violência e discriminação históricas, geradas como consequência do racismo que ainda estrutura e perpassa por todas as dimensões e instituições presente na sociedade brasileira
