En el presente artículo se analizan las hermenéuticas que los reformadores Lutero y Calvino aplicaron a las Sagradas Escrituras. El autor muestra la centralidad de Cristo eje hermenéutico de lectura de la Biblia según Lutero y su énfasis de que la Escritura es sui ipsius interpres. Por su parte Calvino apela al testimonio interno del Espíritu Santo y su enfoque trinitario. El autor compara las exégesis que tanto Lutero como Calvino del texto paulino de Romanos 1.17, clave en el inicio de la Reforma encarada por Lutero y afirma que tanto Lutero como Calvino privilegian la hermenéutica de autor y el uso de un método histórico-gramatical, toda vez que intentan interpretar lo que el hagiógrafo quiso comunicar, aunque procurando, al mismo tiempo, aplicar el sentido del texto a la Iglesia y la sociedad de sus tiempos.

In this article Alberto Roldán analyses the hermeneutics of the reformers Luther and Calvin and is application to the Holy Scripture. The author shows the centrality of Christ as the central point in Luther and his emphasis on the Scripture is sui ipsius interpres. Calvin appeals to the internal testimony of the Holy Spirit in a Trinitarian approach. Roldán compares the exegesis of Luther and Calvin of the text of Romans 1.17, very important in the beginning of the Reform movement and affirm that Luther and Calvin privileged the historical and grammatical method and its application to the Church and Society in their times.
