  • Resumen
    • The reduction of food losses and food waste generation are a huge challenge, which demand the optimal use of food resources. This study shows how two different countries/markets face this issue through the normative aspect. Both contexts (Portugal and Brazil) present a close relationship with global agendas. However, the European Union has already established a more advanced body of rules; moreover, when demands of circular economy are taking place. It is imperative that the legal framework becomes robust and supports all social and environmental needs to promote sustainable development in the medium and long terms. Nevertheless, with a regulatory strength it will be possible to move forward across the value chain of agri-food business and considerably reduce food wastage.
