    Considerando el siglo XXI y los tres diferentes escenarios principales que proyectan caracterizarlo, el primer escenario, el siglo de la geopolítica —tipificado por la Trampa de Tucídides en la que podrían caer EE. UU. y China—, ya está en términos comerciales en juego sobre el tablero de las relaciones internacionales. Al mismo tiempo, el choque económico-comercial entre las dos potencias está causando muchas alteraciones geoeconómicas que están cambiando mucho la estructura del sistema económico internacional. Mientras que EE. UU. lucha por mantener su posición económica mundial número uno, China le está ganando mucho terreno muy rápidamente para arrebatársela.

    En ese contexto geoeconómico tan enrarecido y cambiante, desde principios de siglo, el ascenso económico mundial de China ha dado lugar a mucho debate, el cual concluye que el siglo XXI pertenece a China. Se proyecta que China no solo se convertirá en la potencia económica mundial número uno, si no que su moneda, el yuan renminbi, también desbancará al dólar americano como moneda de reserva internacional número uno. Considerando la batalla comercial entre EE. UU. y China, muchas de las características de la economía China arrojan bastante luz esclarecedora en relación con el tipo de adversario al que se está enfrentando EE. UU. y las distintas perspectivas que predominan sobre el rol geoeconómico de China en el siglo XXI.

    Considering the 21st century and the three different main scenarios that project to characterize it, the first scenario, the Century of Geopolitics —typified by the Thucydides Trap, which the US and China could fall into— is already in commercial terms at stake on the chessboard of international relations. At the same time, the economic-trade clash between the two powers is likewise causing many geoeconomic disruptions that are greatly changing the structure of the international economic system. While the United States struggles to maintain its number one global economic position, China is rapidly gaining ground to grab it.

    Within such a rarefied and ever changing geoeconomic context, since the turn of the century, China’s global economic uprise has generated much debate, which concludes that the 21st century belongs to China. China is projected to not only become the world’s number one economic power, but its currency, the Yuan Renminbi, will also debunk the US dollar as the number one international reserve currency.

    Considering the trade battle between the US and China, many of the characteristics of the Chinese economy shed a lot of light regarding the type of adversary the US is facing and the different perspectives that predominate on China’s geoeconomic role in the 21st century
