Resumen de Religious medals and their dies made by ‘the Roettiers’ (17th-18th cent.)
This paper publishes and analyses the dies which were made to strike religious medals sisned by members of the famous engravers family, the Roettiers. These objects are kept in the collection of the Coin Department of KBR. Based on the signatures, the style, the shape of the dies and the marks on their shafts they are attributed to individual Roettiers family members. The main result is the identification of high quality dies engraved by Philippe Roettiers (1596-1669?).
