  • Resumen
    • In a world driven by rapid technological advances, society has responded with an increasing dependence on this profound force. Technology in higher education may be an important tool for improving the quality of educational offerings and for gaining competitive advantage. However, despite this use of technology by higher educational institutions, hospitality and tourism programs have not kept pace with developments in the sector. This research effort examines ten growing technology trends currently impacting higher education. Utilizing a qualitative research process the ten themes were identified through the use of an electronic academic database containing hospitality education and technology articles. The influence of these technology trends on hospitality and tourism education is explored. The article concludes with an examination of sustainable technology development in hospitality and tourism education.
