Son muchos los actores y factores que intervienen a la hora de elegir nuevo presidente en el Líbano. Algo que no es tarea fácil. En este artículo se pretende revisar, someramente, algunos de ellos, los principales, para poder comprender un poco mejor cómo se desarrolla este complejo sistema político. Unas reglas basadas en líneas étnico-religiosas, y sus fundamentos históricos, mediante las cuales se articula la toma de decisiones en el país. No obstante, los cimientos de la “fórmula libanesa” están firmemente asentados en las arenas del Oriente Próximo. La situación regional, y, en algunas ocasiones, internacional, ha incidido en el desarrollo de los acontecimientos en territorio libanés, unas veces para bien y otras para mal.

There are many actors and factors involved in choosing a new president in Lebanon. Something that is not easy. This article aims to briefly review some of them, the most important ones, to understand a little better how this complex political system develops. Some rules based on ethno-religious lines, and their historical foundations, through which the decision-making in the country is divided. However, the foundations of the "Lebanese formula" are firmly entrenched in the sands of the Middle East. The regional situations, and sometimes the international circumstances, have been influential in the development of events in Lebanon, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse.
