Resumen de Intelectuales del Cono Sur en Chile: Perfil de los cientistas sociales brasileños y argentinos radicados en la Universidad de Concepción (1967-1973)

El objetivo de este artículo es examinar el perfil de los cientistas sociales argentinos y brasileños radicados en la Universidad de Concepción entre la reforma universitaria y el golpe militar, considerando y problematizando tres variables: nacionalidad, rango etario y militancia política. A través del entrecruzamiento de cuestionarios aplicados a informantes clave, documentos institucionales y prensa local, intentaremos mostrar que estos cientistas sociales sudamericanos se articularon social e intelectualmente en función de sus sensibilidades y militancias políticas, identificándose con las izquierdas, y que lo anterior diversificó el ambiente intelectual de la ciudad y reforzó la idea de Concepción como “provincia roja”.

The objective of this article is to examine the profile of Argentine and Brazilian social scientists based at the University of Concepcion between university reform and the military coup, considering and problematizing three variables: nationality, age range and political militancy. Through the cross-linking of questionnaires applied to key informants, institutional documents and local press, we will try to show that these South American social scientists were socially and intellectually articulated based on their sensitivities and political militancies, identifying with the left, and that the above diversified the environment intellectual city and reinforced the idea of Conception as “red province”.
