Resumen de O desenvolvimento das Instituições Psiquiátricas no Rio Grande do Sul até 1950

The present article proposes to bring to the margin which psychiatric institutions were founded until the year 1950 in the State of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), and which researches produced by historians of formation on these institutions. We seek to carry out this analysis through two parts: the first on the historiographical references about the Hospital Psiquiátrico São Pedro (HPSP) and its formation; and the second part regarding the existing academic research on psychiatric institutions created after the HPSP, revealing, in part, the developments of Psychiatric History in RS

O presente artigo propõe trazer à margem quais as instituições psiquiátricas fundadas até o ano 1950 no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), e quais as pesquisas produzidas por historiadores de formação sobre essas instituições. Buscamos fazer essa análise por meio de duas partes: a primeira sobre as referências historiográficas sobre o Hospital Psiquiátrico São Pedro (HPSP) e sua formação; e a segunda parte a respeito das pesquisas acadêmicas existentes sobre as instituições psiquiátricas criadas posteriormente ao HPSP, revelando, em parte, os desdobramentos da História Psiquiátrica no RS.
