  A fin de legitimar su voz autoral en las distintas áreas del saber, los elementos autobiográficos cumplieron un rol fundamental, y si se considera que Christine de Pizan fue su principal biógrafa, se hace difícil abordar una biografía de la autora que se encuentre separada de la búsqueda de reconocimiento como escritora. De acuerdo a esta perspectiva, lo que se propone este trabajo es presentar una biografía de la autora, que aunque poco convencional, posee la ventaja de traducir dos cuestiones que en los textos aparecen indisociables: la Christine persona y la Christine escritora. De ahí, que el relato autobiográfico se encuentre estrechamente vinculado al recorrido literario. A partir de las distintas etapas de su vida, la autora construye sus diversas identidades literarias de cuya unidad nace la figura de clergesse: modelo original de mujer sabia, que ubicándose por fuera del patrón de la mujer letrada del ámbito monacal, se erige contra el tradicional monopolio masculino del saber clerical.

  In order to move away from her role as a court poetess and become a moral and political treatise writer for the kingdom princes, Christine de Pizan had to create a literary identity that could legitimate her work. In order to legitimize her auctoritas in different areas of knowledge, the autobiographical elements used to construct her identity played a fundamental role.

  This work aims to present a biography of the author Christine de Pizan through the interplay of two elements that in her works are tightly intertwined: Christine the person and Christine the writer.

  That is, her autobiographical story is closely linked to her literary path. The author’s life and literary work converge in the figure of the clergesse: the original model of the wise woman, who, moving away from the standardized image of the literate woman in the monastic sphere, seeks to become a literary authority in the king's court, the epicenter of the new state science.
