  • Resumen
    • Third sector organizations have diverse funding sources to accomplishment their mission. Among them, corporations have played an important and active role supporting this sector. The present paper aims at understanding the impacts of the corporate donations on third sector organizations through a systematic literature review. Key findings indicate that, despite the scarce literature on this specific topic, some potential impacts can be identified and discussed. These include:

resource dependence, accountability exigencies, impact on alternative funding sources, the interplay of donations and networks, and the wage dispersion. Also, other research trends that have been detected are presented, such as the crowding in or crowding out effects of government grants on donations, the motives and determinants of corporations to donate to third sector organizations, the way these organizations attract funds, taxation issues, and the need to go beyond the check through social investment.
