This paper is a case study report of the use of computer conferencing in an on‐campus postgraduate degree course. The CoSy computer conferencing system was used as a seminar medium over a 12‐week term with a class of 18 professional teachers taking an MEd in‐service education course. The impact of this medium of teaching and learning is examined in terms of student use of the various conferencing facilities; their general use of the system; and student perceptions of computer conferencing as an educational medium. Data was collected from a self‐completion questionnaire distributed at the end of the course.
