Las iglesias románicas de la diócesis medieval de Tui en territorio portugués

    El territorio de la diócesis de Tui en la Edad Media abarcaba de la ría de Vigo al río Limia hasta 1444; la zona entre los ríos Miño y Lima, embrión de Portugal, consigue la independencia política en 1143 pero eclesiásticamente continuó dependiendo de Tui hasta casi el final del medievo. Por tanto las iglesias que se levantaron en ese ámbito cronológico hay que estudiarlas como integrantes de la diócesis de Tui. Tuvieron como referente la catedral de Tui, pero sus influencias convivieron con planteamientos, iconos y motivos propios del románico portugués, como son los del taller de la catedral Braga. A través de la selección de seis iglesias se observarán dichas influencias.

    The territory of the diocese of Tui in the Middle Ages included from the estuary of Vigo to the river Limia until 1444; the area between the rivers Miño and Lima, the embryo of Portugal, achieved political independence in 1143 but ecclesiastically it continued depending on Tui until almost the end of the medievo. Therefore the churches that got up in this chronological context must be studied as members of the diocese of Tui. They had as reference the cathedral of Tui, but its influences coexisted with approaches, icons and motifs typical of the Portuguese Romanesque, as are those of the workshop of the cathedral Braga. Through the selection of six churches these influences will be observed.
