Resumen de Desafío en Mali: Acordar una paz definitiva y reforzar la seguridad (EUTM Mali)

  Como era previsible, la Coordinadora de Movimientos de Azawad no estuvo presente en la firma del Acuerdo de Paz y Reconciliación celebrada en Bamako el 15 de mayo. De nuevo, la negativa a suscribirlo por parte de los rebeldes separatistas tuaregs ha boicoteado el proceso político de reconstrucción de Mali, y ha comprometido seriamente la posibilidad de un cese de las hostilidades en el norte del país. En este convulso escenario, la misión EUTM Mali continúa adiestrando a las unidades militares, que deben convertirse en el principal baluarte del Gobierno para garantizar, aún a largo plazo, la estabilidad y la paz en la región septentrional. Hasta entonces, la lucha armada de los movimientos rebeldes, junto con el terrorismo yihadista y el crimen organizado, seguirán lastrando el futuro de Mali; y tendrán unas consecuencias, cada vez más evidentes, fuera de sus fronteras.

  As was predictable, the Coordination of Azawad Movements was not present at the signing of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Bamako on 15th May. Again, its refusal to sign it has boycotted the political process of reconstruction of Mali, while the cessation of hostilities in the northern region is ever further. In this complicated context, the EUTM Mali mission continues to train military units, which must become the main stronghold of the Government to ensure, even in the long term, stability and peace in the northern region. Until then, the armed struggle of the rebel movements, along with jihadist terrorism and organized crime, will continue to undermine the future of Mali; and its consequences will be increasingly evident beyond its borders.
