Resumen de Cinema, corpo, boxe: suas relações e a construção da masculinidade

  Considerando que esporte e cinema são manifestações culturais típicas da modernidade, que ambas estabeleceram fortes relacionamentos no decorrer da história e que se constituem em eficazes ferramentas pedagógicas, este estudo objetiva discutir as representações de masculinidade em filmes que incorporaram o boxe em seu enredo.

  Se em sua origem o esporte é uma prática social especialmente masculina, o boxe aparece como expressão hiperbólica dessa afinidade. Que idéias de “homem”, na sua relação com o corpo e com os sentidos e significados da modernidade, podem ser identificadas nas películas que representaram, ora de forma mais ora de forma menos explícita, tal esporte?

  Considering that sport and cinema are typical cultural manifestations of modernity, that both had established strong relationships and that they consist in efficient pedagogical tools, this study has for purpose to discuss the representations of masculinidade in movies that had incorporated boxe in its plot. If in its origin the sport is understanding as a masculine social practice, boxe appears as hyperbolic expression of this affinity. What kind of ideas of man, in its relation with the body and the directions and meanings of modernity, can be identified in movies that had represented such sport?
