The Alboran Island Bank is one of the main structural highs from the Alboran Basin with an isolated insular shelf surrounded in whole the extension by the slope physiographic domain. The emerged region of this bank is the Alboran Island. The different morphologic types observed in this area and in the littoral, continental shelf and upper slope physiographic domains, have been classified acoording to the morphologic origin: a) erosive, b) sedimentary, c) tectonic and/or inherent and d) gravitational. Attending to the distribution the erosive processes act or has have been act over the three physiographic domains. These erosive processes have been observed more frequently in the northern areashelf. The sedimentary and tectonic processes have been observed on the shelf. A significant influence of the tectonics processes have been shown in the study area, being the sedimentary processes more important in the southern area. Finally, the gravitational processes have developed in the upper slope of the western area.
