The interaction between tidal and fluvial processes has been measured over a spring tide cycle in a beach barrier-lagoon sedimentary complex (A Ramallosa) located in Baiona Bay\ at the southeast corner of the Ria de Vigo. Fluvial discharges have been obtained over several years to obtain average conditions. Fluvial currents showed extremely low stages and flow regime. Transport conditions have been calculated for both flood and ebb currents. During spring tides grains can be transported out of the complex giving way to an ebb tidal delta. During tidal flood stages coarse sands can be transported toward the complex and are accumulated in tidal ramps at the estuarine domain of the Miñor River. A model for tide distributions have been generated from a DEM obtained with a Total Station. About 90% of the complex interior is located in the intertidal area. Facies distributions show sand dominated environments toward the west and north (estuaries, sand flats and tidal ramps) and inner vegetated marshes toward the east (muddy sand and fine sands).
