  • With the purpose of responding to the existent necessities of information on the marine floor of the Spanish continental shelf and slope has been started a project (P. ESPACE) of systematic acquisition of detailed information with multibeam, seismic continuous of reflection type chirp, bottom sediment samples, submarine photo and TV. Also, it has been designed a work methodology from the taking data, their structuring, organization, processed and incorporation of the information to a marine G.I.S. that allows a work of great precision, as well as to generate a cartography thematic standard of quality that serves as infrastructure that will facilitate the knowledge, study of the continental shelf (geologic risks, sedimentary dynamics, distribution of pollutants, etc.), environmental marine management, analysis and modelización of the marine areas
