A reflexive analysis of the notion of ḥchouma (shame-modesty), in the context of today’s Moroccan society, is based on a theoretical approach which consists in considering that the changes that have taken place in so-called traditional societies, have led to an update of the meanings of cultural notions, while leading them towards a new scope of meaning. This article attempts to inventory the registers which give the notion of ḥchouma a multiplicity and compilation of meanings. It also analyzes the journey of the meanings of this notion and its operative uses in electronic news sites and social networks in this digital age. This has led to the emergence of new objects of anthropology
