In this paper, I aim to define both dialogism and historical allegory in Cesare Pavese’s Dialoghi con Leucò (1947). Firstly, I showed how Pavese created a polyphonic-theatrical system, composed by existing actors in dialectic space. Secondly, I identified in historical allegory the rhetorical mean used by Pavese in order to actualize Greek mythology.
