La metáfora del hilo en la práctica artística.: Alegorías de un viaje

    Bajo la premisa de que, la tradición alegórica se ha trasladado durante siglos al imaginario popular colectivo gracias a la incesante transmisión de ciertas cosmogonías, mitos y leyendas por medio de todo tipo de medios como los orales, los impresos o los audiovisuales, el presente texto tiene como objetivo otear cómo el arte contemporáneo sigue generando procesos de semiosis fundamentados en este tipo de evocaciones, centrándonos únicamente en el enclave interpretativo del hilo y sus adyacentes –como la acción de tejer–. Nos ayudaremos para ello de los estudios sobre mitología antigua y cultura indígena de autores como Danesi (2004), Pintado (2012) Aguilera (2014) y Fernández (2012), para relacionarlos con la práctica artística, especialmente en torno a la obra de dos autoras contemporáneas que han hecho del hilo su material plástico: en este caso, artistas de la talla de la chino-estadounidense Beili Liu y la franco-americana Louise Joséphine Bourgeois.

    Considering that the allegorical tradition has been transferred to the collective popular imaginary for centuries thanks to the incessant transmission of certain cosmogonies, myths and legends by means of all kinds of means such as oral, print or audiovisual, the present text aims to give how contemporary art continues to generate semiosis processes based on this type of allegorical evocations, focusing only on the interpretative enclave of the thread and its adjacent ones - such as the weaving action. We will help ourselves with the studies on ancient mythology and indigenous culture of authors such as Danesi (2004), Pintado (2012) Aguilera (2014) and Fernández (2012), to relate them to artistic practice, especially around the work of two contemporary authors who have made the thread their plastic material:: in this case, artists of the likes of Chinese-American Beili Liu and Franco-American Louise Joséphine Bourgeois.
