  • This note analyses a number of etymological hypotheses, according to which the word "buzzurro" is either a backformation from 'buzzurrone', allotrope of 'buggerone' 'sodomite', or is linked to northern Italian and Italian-Swiss forms as 'brüzur', 'brüsur' 'burn'.
