    This article aims to analyze the construction of death of the Iberian royalty in the middle of the 15th century, with an emphasis on narratives and the burial memorial built around the dynasties of Avis in Portugal and of Trastâmara in Castile. Therefore, we will analyze the speeches and chronical narratives about the death of the kings D. Afonso V (1438 - 1481) of Portugal, D. Juan II (1406 - 1454) and D. Henrique IV (1454 - 1474) of Castile, under the perspective of a comparative history, seeking to understand how peninsular monarchies appropriated the construction and celebration of the memory of death as an instrument for the propagation and evocation of political power

    O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar a construção da memória sobre a morte da realeza ibérica em meados do século XV, com ênfase nas narrativas e no memorial funerário edificado entorno das dinastias de Avis, em Portugal, e de Trastâmara, em Castela. Para tanto, analisaremos os discursos e as narrativas cronísticas sobre o falecimento dos reis D. Afonso V (1438 - 1481) de Portugal, D. Juan II (1406 - 1454) e D. Henrique IV (1454 - 1474) de Castela, sob a perspectiva da história comparada, buscando compreender como as monarquias peninsulares se apropriaram da construção e da celebração da memória da morte como instrumento de propagação e evocação do poder político.
