    Si el Protectorado de España en Marruecos de la zona Norte ha sido objeto de numerosos estudios e investigaciones, los realizados sobre el Protectorado de la zona Sur, o sea Cabo Juby (Tarfaya) e Ifni abundan menos. Por ello, es laudable la iniciativa de Youssef Akmir, catedrático de Historia de la Universidad de Ibn Zohr (Agadir) y especialista en las relaciones hispano-marroquíes, de coordinar y editar este libro colectivo sobre una región de Marruecos vecina de las costas españolas, no de las peninsulares, sino de las Islas Canarias, con las que esa región marroquí mantuvo numerosos intercambios desde hace siglos. En este libro colectivo participan 11 especialistas de las relaciones hispano-marroquíes, de uno y otro lado del Estrecho, cuyos artículos aportan datos y análisis, que contribuyen a enriquecer nuestros conocimientos sobre esa región meridional de Marruecos.

    If the Protectorate of Spain in Morocco in the North zone has been the subject of numerous studies and investigations, those carried out on the Protectorate of the South zone, that is, Cape Juby (Tarfaya) and Ifni are less abundant. For this reason, the initiative of Youssef Akmir, professor of History at the University of Ibn Zohr (Agadir) and specialist in Spanish-Moroccan relations, to coordinate and edit this collective book on a region of Morocco neighboring the Spanish coasts, is laudable. not from the peninsular, but from the Canary Islands, with which that Moroccan region has maintained numerous exchanges for centuries. In this collective book, 11 specialists in Spanish-Moroccan relations participate, from both sides of the Strait, whose articles provide data and analysis, which contribute to enrich our knowledge about that southern region of Morocco.
