Resumen de Microcomputers in Course Development

Shannon Timmers

  • Course development and production processes are highly integrated in most distance education systems. However, course writers, especially those who are writing their first course, must be shown how to adhere to an institution's publishing guidelines. As computerized course development and production systems evolved at the Open Learning Institute, solutions to some of the inherent problems in course writing emerged. This paper describes how a network of microcomputers facilitated the preparation of production‐ready manuscripts and how course authoring templates can be constructed from wordprocessing software.
