    A lo largo de todo su apostolado intelectual, como le gustaba decir a Scannone (según su autobiografía), ha realizado un diálogo fructífero entre teología y filosofía (fundamentalmente, de la religión) latinoamericanas, aportes que lo situaron tanto en el distinguido grupo de los fundadores de la Filosofía de la Liberación (Dussel, Fornari, Cullen, Casalla) como entre los teólogos de la liberación más importantes e interesantes para el debate y la crítica (Gutiérrez, Sobrino, Boff, Gera). En el texto que presentamos, aboradamos los primeron planteos sobre filosofía de la liberación y sabiduría popular, religión y teología del pueblo. Consideramos que, en estas formulaciones iniciales, aparece un proyecto de pensamiento que mantendra a lo largo de su dilatada producción teórica en el área de la filosofía -especialmente fenomenología de la religión y hermeneutica de las religiones- y de la teología latinoamericana, particularmente la versión de la teología argentina del pueblo. Scannone se consolidó como uno de los filósofos de la liberación con mayor proyección internacional y en el pensador más sistemático de la Teología del Pueblo, su exponente más conocido y reconocido mundialmente.

    Throughout his intellectual apostolate, as Scannone (according to his autobiography) liked to say, he has carried out a fruitful dialogue between Latin American theology and philosophy (fundamentally, of religion), contributions that placed him both in the distinguished group of the founders of the Philosophy of Liberation (Dussel, Fornari, Cullen, Casalla) and among the most important and interesting liberation theologians for debate and criticism (Gutiérrez, Sobrino, Boff, Gera). In the text that we present, we address the first questions on philosophy of liberation and popular wisdom, religion and theology of the people. We consider that, in these initial formulations, there appears a project of thought that he will maintain throughout his long theoretical production in the area of philosophy —especially phenomenology of religion and hermeneutics of religions— and of Latin American theology, particularly the version of the Argentine theology of the people. Scannone established himself as one of the philosophers of liberation with the greatest international projection and the most systematic thinker of the Theology of the People, its best known and world-renowned exponent.
