La herpetofauna del yacimiento finipleistoceno (ca. 11000 aP) de Laminak II (Berriatua, País Vasco) incluye escasos restos de los anfibios urodelos Salamandra salamandra, Triturus helveticus y un tercer salamándrido no determinado. Entre los anuros· han aparecido Alytes obstetricans (Discoglossidae), Bufo bufo (Bufonidae), y una abundante muestra de Rana temporaria (Ranidae). Entre los reptiles figuran Anguis fragilis (Anguidae), así como lacértidos y colúbridos indeterminados. Bufo bufo y R. temporaria son componentes habituales de las faunas pleistocénicas europeas, pero el hallazgo del tritón palmeado supondría uno de los primeros registros peninsulares en estado fósil. Un análisis biométrico comparado indica que la morfología de Rana temporaria en Laminak 11 no se diferencia significativamente de la forma actual pirenaica de la especie, pero se muestra en cambio distinta tanto de las subespecies cantábricas como de las otras ranas pardas que habitan la Península ibérica.

Pleistocene herpetofauna of Laminak 11. The herpetofauna of the latest Pleistocene site Laminak II (Berriatua, Basque Country), dated ca. 11000 BP, includes sorne remains of the Caudata amphibians Salamandra salamandra, Triturus helveticus andan unidentified Salamandrid newt. It is recorded, among anurans, the presence of Alytes obstetricans (Discoglossidae), Bufo bufo (Bufonidae ), as well as an abundant sample of Rana temporaria (Ranidae ). Among reptiles there are remains of Anguis fragilis (Anguidae), as well as unidentified lacertids and colubrids. Bufo bufo and R. temporaria are frequent components of the European Pleistocene faunas, but the record of Triturus helveticus would be one of the first for the lberian península as fossil. A biometrical comparative analysis indicates that the frog from Laminak II does not show signiflcant differences with respect to the Recent form of Rana temporaria from the Pyrenees, but it differs from the two Cantabrian subspecies and also from the other brown frogs living in the Iberian Península.

Anuruak direla eta, Alytes obstetricans, Discoglossidae (txantxiku arrunta), Bufo bufo, Bufonidae (apo arrunta) eta Rana temporaria, Ranidae (urmael-igela), azken honen utzikin nahikotxo gainera, agertu zaizkigula esan beharra dago. Narraztiekin ari garelarik, badiraAnguisfragilis, Anguidae (zirauna), eta bai sugandila-musker eta sugeen familiako zehaztuko gabeko batzuk ere. Bufo bufo eta Rana temporaria, europar flauna pleistozeniarretan egotea oso normala da, baina uhandre palmatua fosila penintsulan aurkitu deneko lehen aldietako bat da. Azterketa biometriko gonbaratuak hauxe erakusten digu: Laminak 11-ko Rana temporaria delakoa eta gaur eguneko piriniarra ez direla itxuraz gehiegi bereizten, bai ordea, kantabriar espeziekin eta iberiar penintsulan bizi diren igelarreekin gonbaratzen badira.
