    In seinem umfangreichen filmischen Werk exploriert und redefiniert Ventura Pons die nationale und kulturelle katalanische Identität von der postfranquistischen transició bis in die Gegenwart durch die Darstellungen der Stadt Barcelona, die er in seinen Filmen liefert. In diesem Beitrag werden die Bilder und Verweise auf diese urbanen Landschaften in ausgewählten Filmen des katalanischen Regisseurs analysiert, welche von der Neuausrichtung Barcelonas als Symbol des antifranquistischen Widerstands und der Verteidigung demokratischer Freiheiten in der Zeit der transició bis hin zum kritischen Blick auf die Auswirkungen reichen, die die aktuelle kapitalistisch geprägte Modernisierung auf die Stadt hat

    In his extensive filmography, Ventura Pons explores and redefines the national and cultural Catalan identity, from the Transition to the present day, through the representation of the cityscape of Barcelona. In this article, we analyze the visual images and the allusions to the cityscapes in some of the Catalan filmmaker’s movies that reach from the configuration of Barcelona as a symbol of the anti-Francoist resistance and the defense of the democratic liberties to the examination of the effects that the current capitalist modernization has had.
