Resumen de Interprofessional Education
Interprofessional education is one of the growing points of medical education. It appears that the involvement of medical students in educational activities with students from other health and welfare professions is a necessary response to needs expressed in the community and the professions for graduates who are able to work effectively with each other.
However, such specific activities are only one aspect of the multidisciplinary and interprofessional setting in which health science students learn and later practise. There appears to be no one model for using this aspect of their educational environment. A range of approaches is briefly mentioned, together with some factors which might lead to the successful outcome of initiatives in interprofessional education.
