    • A study was conducted in cattle slaughtered at the main abattoir in Mexico City (Ferrería) from January to December to determine the monthly and yearly frequency and economic impact of fasciolasis in these animals. The study was based on an analysis of the official records of the Sanitary Inspection Service of Ferrería. During this period, ,, bovines were slaughtered and , livers with F. hepatica were confiscated, representing .%, equivalent to , kg of bovine livers with an economic loss of ,,, pesos. The range of confiscated livers was between .% and .%. The year with the most confiscations was and the least, ; July and March were the months with the highest (.%) and the lowest (.%) figures, respectively
